Funny Guy

Seriously, this kid is always cracking us up! He does and says the funniest stuff...I just can't even keep up with him! Today he wanted to have his lunch in his car...without his shirt on. Oh Gavie:)

Mr. 3 month

I managed to get some cute baby A pics today while we were playing in the back yard. He is SUCH a smiley baby...and loves the camera. It will not be long before he is not so fond of the camera lens in his face. I am so in love with this little guy:)

First time in swing!

Wait a second...Austin is my baby...how is he already in the swing?!?! I had to put him inside to get his brother in the other swing, and of course he just loved it. So he stayed for a few minutes...and thankfully I put the "barf rag" there because he immediately spit up all over:) I still can't believe that I have TWO kids in the swings.

Boys and Hacienda

Every night after dinner, we walk over to Hacienda elementary school to play. There is a big jungle gym, and a huge field to run and kick the soccer ball. About 99% of the time we meet Kaleb there too...and the boys play. Well the boys play with dads...and the moms hold babies:) They really are best little friends...and they are "learning" how to play better with each other every single day. We are so excited that the weather is now so nice, and will continue to be for months and months...perfect "Ha-ci-sienda" weather! (Its rare I get pics of this....its the end of the day and I can usually barely keep my eyes open:)

Strong Austie

I can't believe how strong this baby is! He is a lot stronger at this age than G was for sure. Something I didn't realize could happen bc G was a strong baby.

Austin can hold his head up all the time, very well. We are obviously always careful and support it when we lift him up, but sometimes when we are doing tummy time, I will lift him up by his hands to a standing position, and he holds his head the entire time, very well! I am always so amazed.

He spends most of the day in a standing position in your lap. Legs straight, and very sturdy...and we usually hold him by the torso...but sometimes by the arms and hands...and he stands so tall and proud!

He has been rolling from tummy to back since he was less than a week old...and is just days away from back to tummy. His one arm stands in his way right now, he cannot decide where to put it so he can roll.

Just this afternoon, he was taking a nice long nap in his swing...where he naps 90% of the time. He was sleeping and sleeping for hours (Thanks to his little cold) so I kept checking on him. I found him with his head completely off the swing on the side!!! AHHH I freaked out and ran to him...and after I made sure he was breathing and moved his head back, he woke up a little and move his head off AGAIN! OK, strong boy, no more swing for you! (It does not matter that he is strapped in and it is on its lowest setting...He is too strong for his own good:)

Baby A has also decided that for the past week, he no longer will drink from a bottle. He usually gets one bottle a day from Daddy...not anymore! We have tried and tried with different people and times...he just does not want it! He seriously acts like he is being poisoned when the bottle hits his mouth...Not sure what to do at this point! New bottles? I guess we will just keep trying for now.

I just wanted to write this down, because he changes so much each and every day. Just like that he is so big. Tonight while I was nursing him before bed, he decided that he wanted to know what all the noise was about (Gavin & Daddy reading books and playing) and also wanted to smile at me...so he would suck, suck, suck, completely pull his head away and look at me and smile and coo...and did this over and over for 20 minutes! Gone are the days when he will just nurse away with all the noise in the back round...now he wants to see what's happening! He sure is growing so fast.

I had to post all the pics of A in his toys...our house looks just like it did 2 years ago...baby stuff EVERYWHERE! Baby Austin loves his jumparoo and exersaucer already!

{Gavin 33 Months}

Oh Gavie,

Notice how every other month says "Dear Gavin" ? ? ?

Yes, Oh Gavin is all I can say!

Terrible two's??? We think so!

You have recently mastered the skill of throwing a tantrum, and you are the MASTER of manipulation. OMG.

We are working on what to do in these situations...but I think the key is to NOT give in to you...a hard thing when momma is so tired! So I promise we love you, and this is us showing you that:)

You talk a mile a minute from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. You repeat any new word you hear, and you speak in phrases, sentences, and lots of demands! Your vocabulary is insane...shock us every day with new things. Lately it was "Momma, Davin calls the shots around here!" and "Momma is just gonna DIE when I show her this spider!" Oh yes, you hear it all!

You eat everything under the sun, and you are completely potty trained except for naps and bedtime.

You wear size 3T and some 4T. Shoe size is 9. Diaper size is 6. Such a big boy!

Although things have been rough around here lately, life is still so much fun with you. You make us laugh and smile all day long (minus those tantrums!). This definitely is a fun age as you are becoming so independent and can get what you want. I found you yesterday pouring your own glass of milk...yep, you used the step stool to get your cup, get the milk, and you did not spill an ounce. I was not really that surprised, as you are Mr. Independent!

Looking forward to a fun summer....we just joined a "Cabana Club" and are super excited to take you swimming:)

We love you Gavie!

My Mother's day

I have spent the night and day snuggled up with baby A...poor little guy has his first cold:( Lots of cuddling, snot sucking, and nursing...every 20 minutes he will look up at me and try to smile...then a look of confusion hits him as he can't breathe from his nose...poor guy!

Other than lots of cuddling, we have just been hanging out at home. They boys made me my favorite breakfast of spinach tart. Then they got me flowers and made me lunch too:) These boys spoil me.

I am so thankful today and always. I am thankful that all I have to deal with is a little cold...things could be so much worse, I know. This journey of motherhood is by far the hardest yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. Best "job" in the world, no matter what anyone says.

Happy Mother's day Mom and Dayle! I love you:)
