{Austin 20 Months}

Dear Austie,

Well, what can I say. You sure are a lot of work these days! Into everything and usually in some sort of trouble. Not bad, you just love to explore. And you don't really hear the word no. At all.

You are still not saying very many words. Doggie, Mama, Ma, Here go, and a few others. Most of your communication is done through pointing and screaming! You yell when you are mad and you yell when you are excited. Oh my, you yell SO loud when we are in the car and you see a truck, bulldozer, or ANY sort of big vehicle. You LOVE to point, yell, and talk in Austin language.

You are very into reading books these days. You see your brother wanting to read books, so you want to too. Your favorite book is The Big Book of Things That Go. You will sit though the entire thing, sometimes twice.

You love to play with all your brothers toys. Forget about the toys that are meant for your age. No fun. You want the big boy stuff.

Funny story. The other day at the museum, we headed over to the play kitchen. You stopped in front of about 3 other little toddlers your age. You saw that they had some cool stuff. You looked at them and then SCREAMED this horrible scream. Like you were hurt. You scared the heck out of them, and they all at once dropped their kitchen tools....you walked over, grabbed the pot and spoon, and said in Austin language "there go!" (there ya go) Oh. My. Gosh. I kinda took a few steps back because everyone was looking to see whose kid you were! HA! I guess this is your way of communicating!

Austin, you love to give open mouth kisses. You also love to hug and snuggle. You are still getting a bottle of milk at night, and you love to lay down with me or daddy. Some nights you will put up a big fight to get in your crib, so we let you sleep in the big bed for a few hours. You LOVE to snuggle and sleep with us too. Most naps you take with me in the afternoon while your brother is at school. You could not be more excited when you wake up and see my face. I love it too.

You are completely out of the 18mo size, and in everything 2T. Size 4 diapers and size 8 shoe! You know most of your body parts, and if you don't know it, you point to your ears.

You are down to one nap a day. You usually nap around 12:30 and sometimes 1. You are sleeping for about 3 hours and at night for about 11 hours. You love sleep.

You are the best eater in the world. You eat whatever we put on your plate, it does not matter what it is. You are not picky, and you will finish everything we give you. Your favorites include cheese, yogurt, smoothies (You are the biggest fan of smoothies. You walk around with your smoothie cup most of the day. I fill it 2 or three times), chicken, beans, peas, rice, burritos, and all fruit.

Austin, you are all smiles and a very loud boy. We are always having fun with you. Anywhere we go, you have fun and explore. Looking forward to Hawaii in a month!

Cali boy

Since fall has arrived, its cool in the mornings and night. This means the pool is not as warm. Meaning it went from 90degree water to 80degree. Gavin jumped in, and jumped right out. Said it was "way too cold" and decided to sunbathe instead. I could not blame him, I am the same way.

Spina Farms 2013

We have been going down to Spina Farms every year since Gavin was a baby. Its a great little farm and pumpkin patch. The boys now both ride the train and we all go for a hay ride. This year Gavin got to do the pony ride for the first time, and Austin got to do the petting zoo for the first time. They were both so happy. Gavin did the loop with "Carolina" the pony, and he was such a bog boy (I asked him if he wanted me to walk with him, and he said "No, I got this"). Austin pet each and every animal, and as soon as the animal would acknowledge him, he would scream in excitement. I decided to leave the big camera at home, and just snap a few with my phone. It was a beautiful day.

Austin's new favorite toy!

So its safe to say that Austin has every toy in the world....between him and his brother, they have everything. Of course, nothing can ever keep Austin's attention very long. Enter the marble run. Austin loves this thing. He will play by himself and the run for an hour straight. LOVES it. Loves to put all the marbles down it and watch them go....and he studies how they get to the bottom. Its kinda funny because it says this toy is for "5+" :)

Weekend with my boys

This is the first weekend that I am not working in a long time. It was so nice to know that all weekend long, we have nothing planned!

We decided to walk down to Mexico Lindo to get some tacos for dinner, then to get ice cream, then to the park. Perfect fall evening.

I snapped a few pics of Austin at the park. He is SUCH a ham. So busy. So wild. Trying to keep up with the bog kids...and he does. LOVES to play chase and hide and seek. I could just eat him up, he's so cute.

The kids are exhausted and in bed by 7:30 when it is dark. They are tired, and so are we!

Fall is here

Fall here in California is not exactly what you think. Its like an extended summer, with cool mornings and evenings, but still nice and warm during the day. We are so lucky to have this weather.

The past few weeks have been SO incredibly busy. We have been busy with school, art class, soccer practice, zoo trips, bounce house/pumpkin patches, and watching Ma and Papa's house/Shadow. We have been on the move, and non stop. To add to the craziness, I have been working almost full time hours at work. Its been busy.

Gavin has been loving school as always, and Austin has been enjoying his time with Mama.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today we celebrated Daddy's 34th Birthday. We spent all day long making him an apple pie, and went shopping for his present. Happy Birthday Dada!
