Donovan Family Christmas

Tonight we headed over to Allison's place for our Donovan Family Christmas celebration. All the kids had a blast running around the clubhouse and Austin and Addie had even more fun inside the beer cooler. They pretty much ate all the ice for dinner, but they were having fun! We took a shot for Grandpa DB and that was nice to be a part of this year....something we have been doing since he passed away, but we are not usually able to participate in. It was nice. 

After eating there was a dance party with Great Uncle Murphy. Oh my, what a dance party. I am so glad we were able to make it, it was a very nice get together. 

Cincinnati Zoo

Today we headed over to the zoo, and it was a perfect day. Chilly, but still not that cold. There were not very many people there, and the kids got to see so many animals. Gavin says his favorite was the giraffes and Austin says "uh, uh, uh" which means it was the monkeys:)

Cousins!

We arrived late this afternoon in Cincinnati after a very long travel day. We ended up almost missing our flight out of San Jose, so it was a CLOSE call. We were greeted by Erica, Bells and Griffin at the airport, and they were holding signs....so sweet:) We got home to see everyone, and the kids were having a blast with their cousins. A pretty big treat was Lucky Charms for a snack before bed!

Christmas Night

Tonight we headed over to the Tam's house for Christmas dinner. As always the boys had a ton of fun together....well, Austin was out of sorts because he is still not feeling well, but other than that, lots of fun!

Poor Austin still has bronchitis (he was treated for it 3 weeks ago...) and now a sinus infection on top of it. He is coughing and miserable. Add to that a huge crowded house of (no offense) loud adults, and he was NOT having a good time. He was nervous anytime anyone talked to him and also kept checking the door to see when Santa was going to come. Thankfully there was no Santa tonight!

We left around 8:30pm, which is very late for the boys, and Austin was asleep in 3 minutes. Poor guy! We hope he can kick this cough before the new year! 

Christmas Morning 2013

Merry Christmas! The boys woke up at 6am sharp ready to go!

Gavin was SO shocked that Santa brought him a new goldfish, and he promptly names him Goldie. Then the boys opened all their gifts, and they started to play. 

We headed out shortly after to go to church. The boys were pretty good at mass, and we hurried home to eat ham omelets and kale smoothies. All of this was complete by 9am. 

Then the boys headed out to put together Gavin's new 16in bike. Of course he hopped right on and took off! 

Austin now can ride the balance bike all the way around the block, so he is able to keep up (kinda....he's not as fast yet, but working on it!)

Both boys in bed at noon so we can head to Alvin and Zana's house tonight for the Moore Family Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2013

We had a very low key Christmas Eve. Gavin and Daddy spent the day setting up our new surround sound speakers that Santa dropped off early, and Austin and I headed to the park to play. 

After naps (Austin napped from 12:15 to 4:30....not a surprise!) we headed over to Ma and Papa's for dinner. We were surprised to see Aunt Winnie and Uncle Glenn! (They were not supposed to arrive for another day) We had a lovely prime rib dinner and then burnt almond cake for dessert. Then the boys proved that they really are the only Grandchildren....THE PRESENTS! Ma and Papa got the boys so many gifts...they were both bouncing off the walls. The entire living room was covered. We finally left at almost 9pm, which is VERY late for the boys. We headed home, read some books, set out milk/cookies, and went to sleep. Santa needed to get started delivering his presents.
