Austin at school in January!

Austin has a blast at school. He is usually found in the sand box, building water ways, and cooking/eating. Such a great place for him!

Never too old

While looking back at pictures of their daddy when he was little, we found some with him and Aunt Marisa taking baths in the sink. It only took three hours before they wanted to too! So here it is, two babes in the sink. Thankfully our sink is deep enough!

Great Uncle Darryl

Great Uncle Darryl is better! We are so incredibly thankful!!! Today was our last day in town, so I took the boys to go see him at the hospital. They were so excited...and they were so good. They both got to talk to Uncle Darryl, and got to say goodbye.

Like usual, Uncle Darryl got the boys some of their favorite suckers...the kind with REAL BUGS inside! Austin was thrilled, and ate it all the way to the ants.

{Gavin 65 Months}

Dear Gavin,

This past month has gone so fast. Your schedule is busy with school and play...you don't have much time for anything else. You are at school for three hours each day, then you have play dates, go to the park, and you always take a nap. Play hard and sleep hard.

In class you are learning how to write, but you already know this;) You are also learning how to read and you are so excited to do this! I knew you would pick it up fast! You do all sorts of really fun things at school and your favorites are PE, Cooking, Gardening, and Library.

For the most part, you get along with your brother. Sometimes it is pretty hard to live with a two year old, and you remind us of this all the time.

Favorite color: Blue
Favorite song: Yankee Doodle
Favorite place: Hawaii
Favorite vacation: Hawaii
What do you want to be when you grow up: Chef
Best friend: Natalie

Love yo tons Gavie!

{Austin 35 Months}

Dear Austie,

Sometimes we think the terrible twos are over, and sometimes we think they are just starting!

You are a very strong willed and opinionated little boy! If you want something, you do everything in your power to get it! This picture is you trying to eat "Nem-in-Nems" for breakfast. I said no and you told me "OK, I WILL GET IT!" and you did. Oh. Boy.

You love to play with your brother, play chase and cars with daddy, and play with your buddies when Gavin has them over. Yep, your best friend is Gavin's best friend. Natalie. She is SO cool to you!

You are loving Mountain School and all it has to offer. It is one of my favorite days of the week to go to school with you.

You love to be silly. Oh, are you a silly guy! You ham it up for strangers and you know how to put on a show. You laugh uncontrollably and run around and yell made up words.

Your speech is incredible. We understand all that you say, and you even say hard words like quesadilla, cherokee, and la cabesa! These were all said in the last week and we just laughed and laughed because you pronounced them so well, its so cute!

Thank you Austie for keeping life so much fun and keeping the energy high for us all:)

Love you little one!

Austin at Mountain School

I don't even know where to begin. You are so in love with your school. You run up the hill as fast as you can when we get there. You are so eager and so excited to see what Teacher Jane and Sarah have in store for you.

You first go check out whatever task they are doing, as we are there early. I need to bring supplies each week, so we go about 15min early. You help your teachers set up and prepare the activities. Whatever it is, you want to help!

Next you get busy playing. Usually the trains inside first. You build a track and then it turns into firetruck game.

Next you go out to explore. The zip line is next along with trying to catch a chicken. We are never really successful as they are young and fast!

Next you re off to play in the sandbox. You get busy with your buddy Milo and Finn, and you both push dump trucks around and deliver dirt and sand everywhere. You LOVE that sandbox!

Next you head in for cooking. Today YOU were the cooking boy! Oh how exciting! We did cookie cutter bread. You made a ton of train shapes and then ate most of them. :)

You got to ring the bell to gather everyone for snack. Then when we sang "Who's mom is the cooking mom!" you yelled "ME ME! ME Mommy!!!" You were thrilled to say this.

After snack you insisted on doing the dishes. You pulled up a stool and did every single dish! Such a helper. You didn't stop until they were all done!

Next it was circle time and story time. You mostly played with the trains then.

Next it was outside to run with the rainbows! You LOVE this and are the FIRST one down that hill. You run across the field and are laughing in excitement. You head for the redwood trees to do your "tree jumps." Teacher Sarah stands on the tall side and you guys each take a turn jumping down...you don't need any help, and jump so high!

Lastly we have our picnic lunch all together in the field, and we sing goodbye songs. You guys do ring around the rosie with your teachers and you ask over and over to do it more. They are so in love with you. They do it over and over. It melts my heart to see how much they love you.

I love you SO much Austin and I am SO SO SO thankful for this experience with you!
