Easter 2016

Easter morning we woke up, and the boys found the baskets that the bunny left out! Lots of money and a few treats. After we got dressed, we headed out to Easter Mass. The boys were pretty good (all things considered) and then there was an egg hunt outside of church when it was over! Next we headed to have brunch with Ma and Papa at the Elks Club, our new yearly tradition. After we ate, the kids headed out for yet ANOTHER egg hunt. We ended the day by meeting the Horton's at the park for a picnic and another EGG HUNT! That will make this years total egg hunt to FIVE. Happy Easter!

Wildwood Park Easter Egg Hunt 2016

We have gone to Wildwood Park's Easter celebration since Gavin was little. Its a sweet little park and they put on a nice little day. Gavin did the 3 legged race with Evangelina, they sat on the bunny's lap, and of course did the egg hunt. Austin wanted NOTHING to do with the Easter Bunny. At least he was able to get within 30 yards of him, but that was ALL. After that he was far away and kept his eyes peeled to make sure that bunny was not near!

Austin went in the first round of the egg hunt as it was got 4 and younger. He was so quick, grabbed all he could get and then was done. As he was walking back to me, a little girl was crying because she started late and didn't get any. He bent down and dumped about 5 handfuls from his basket into hers. She was so happy and he was proud. He will never know that I was the most proud! What a sweet boy. Everyone else was too busy collecting and looking at what they found to notice a little girl crying. He did not walk by. He did not look the other way. He stopped and gave her some. True meaning of the season.

Gavin and Evangelina went next, and oh my goodness, they had a crowd! They had their baskets full in seconds and were totally done! So much for the days when he would collect a few eggs and be done!!!

{Gavin 79 Months}

Dear Gav,

We had your conference a few weeks ago with Mrs. Faye, and she has SUCH nice things to say about you! Academically, socially, emotionally....you are on target if not advanced. She says that a few months ago you were already ready for 1st grade! She says that she can always count on you to help her, and to help others. You know the rules, and help others with them too;) You are reading, doing math, and know all your popcorn words. We are so proud. Things seem to come easy to you, and you don't need help with much. You have confidence, and we are proud.

You are in 6/7T clothes, size 2 shoe, and still needing diapers at night. You rarely wake up dry, as you sleep like a ROCK. Soon enough you will be dry like your little brother! (We think that may help you with this;)

You are so helpful all the time. You do what we ask of you, and don't complain much.

This past month you have enjoyed lots of after school playdates and also soccer once a week. You Love to just play with your friends, and you also love it when I work class on Friday's. We have a special bagel date before school and then I spend most of the day working your class. You still hug me, sit on my lap, and are very interested that I am there to help. Makes me feel good! I am sure one day that will end, so I am loving it for now!

Love you SO much GAVA!

{Austin 49 Months}

Dear Austie,

Another month has passed too fast! You are busy busy busy these days! Such a different personality from your brother....so we are always learning new things with you!

First of all, let me start with the fact that you are a total show off. Ham. Always showing others your "tricks" and singing songs for everyone. You know you have an audience, and you sure put on an act!!! You know when you are pleasing the crowd, and you know how to work it!

You sing songs for your teachers, talk to everyone and anyone who will listen, and have no issues being yourself. You go to school with me two days a week and Kerri one day a week. You LOVE school SO SO much. Can't get enough. Three days a week is not enough! You prefer to be in the sand, dirt and water the entire time you are there, but you will check everything out and at least try other things....always ending in the sand.

You are SUCH a great eater, sleeper, and love your routines. Mondays school with mom, Tuesdays school with mom one week/kerri the next, Weds Austin choice day, Thurs school with Kerri and Milo, Friday MA DAY! You know the days, what they mean, and we better not switch things around! Friday you spend the whole day with Ma, then go to her house in the afternoon when Gav gets home. You guys stay overnight there, and you look forward to this ALL week long! Go with the flow kinda guy....you are happy doing anything if its with your favorite people!

You are in a size 4/5T clothes, diapers 5T when asleep (Although you wake up dry about 75% of the time now!), size 12 shoe!

Independent. You can pretty much do all the things your big brother can do...physically. You are a complete monkey and are ALWAYS climbing. If its high, you must climb up it!

Life is never boring with you Austie! You are SO much fun to be around, and so funny. Love you to the moon!

Mtn School in the spring!

Today we had a lovely sunny day at school. Austin is in his glory there, and has a blast all day. We took a long hike at the reservoir, and saw snakes and tons of salamanders! Austin probably picked up each one and would just check him out and talk to him. What a fun and warm day!
