Gavin's love for cooking

I really can't say enough how much Gavin loves to cook. He does not always like to eat it, but he just loves to cook. He especially loves to make things that involve "Prust" (Crust) and he knows exactly how to make homemade crust. I had planned to make some pot pies, and I bought the premade pie crust shells. (As I don't seem to have as much spare time in the kitchen as Gavin) and he got so mad at me!!! He told me that he could make it, and I could save the others for later. So, I did. During Austin's morning nap, Gavin and I made chicken pot pie....from scratch. Gavin was so happy to do all the work, and his favorite was trimming the extra pie crust off the sides, with the real knife. I usually give him his "kid knife" that really is sharp...but this needed a "really sharp knife." So the past few weeks we have let him use the real stuff. So far, so good. I trust him. Austin on the other had will be 10 before I will ever trust him! :)

Pay close attention to the serious concentration in his face. He is in Gavin heaven.

Silly Kids

Today we headed over to the discovery museum with Jeremiah, Maddie and Charlotte. We had a great time in the museum, and had a picnic out in the park afterwards. The big kids were running around after and they were playing some game where they would lift their shirts up and I would tickle them. Crazy kids!

First Pee-Pee!!!!

Tonight after dinner at Ma's house, Austin was getting ready for his bath. He went to the toilet and got the toddler seat to put in the toilet. He brought it to me, and said "Uh, uh, uh!" That means he wanted something. I put it in the toilet, and he climbed up. Then I said, OK, pee pee. He did!!!! He went pee about 5 times in a row. Start and stop, and then look for the cheers. It didn't help that he had two parents, 2 grandparents, a great aunt, AND a cheering big brother. He was SO proud of himself. He went potty 2 more times before we left. SO proud of you little man!

Happy 4th Birthday Party Gavin!

Today was Gavin's big party! He wanted to make his own cupcakes, a bounce house, and all his family and friends there....and the big surprise was a MAGIC show! Magician Patrick came to put on a GREAT show, and all the kids (and adults) loved it. Gavin was the star of the show (He loved that one) and all the kids got to participate in the magic tricks. It was awesome. I will never forget Gavin and his friends laughing SO SO hard at the tricks. They thought they were just so incredibly funny and they were laughing so hard. That was my favorite part of the day for sure.

After the show, we bounced in the bounce house, and then had lunch. Followed by cupcakes and more bouncing.

BTW, Gavin made the cupcakes from scratch. He did EVERYTHING and he even did the frosting with the kit. He worked so hard and they turned out so amazing!

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family and group of friends. All that was missing was our Cincy gang....we missed them a lot.

Gavin had a BLAST and was so tired. The boys napped for three hours then woke up and bounced for 4 more hours. :)
