Austin 3yr Well Check-Up

Today was your 3yr well check with Dr. Copeland. I told you we were going as we were leaving Mountain School and you said "OK, me go to doctor!" You are so easy going...so go with the flow. I am so thankful!

You told Dr. C all about your school and how you go pee in the trees. Oh boy.

Here are the stats:

Weight-33lbs 65%
Height-39in 71%
BMI-15 45%
BP-99/61

You did not need any immunizations and there were no concerns to talk about! Dr. C said its totally normal and appropriate that you still need to potty (#2) in a diaper, and that you will outgrow it when you need to. :) One thing I love about her is that she encourages us to remember that kids do things when they are developmentally ready. So poop in a diaper my friend!

Next we talked about how you are meeting and exceeding all your milestones and you are extremely physical...riding a bike, climbing the trees, you name it. She was impressed with your monkey skills. She was also happy to hear that you are talking non-stop and not needing any speech help...in fact you talk so much WE need a break sometimes!

As thankful as ever to have such a healthy and happy little guy. We were in and out of the appointment in 20 minutes!

First trip to Tahoe!

Over the holiday weekend, the Horton's invited us to go up to Trukee to spend some time at their cabin! We had three families, with a total of 7 boys in the house! It was crazy but so much fun!

You both tried to ski, and had a ton of fun. You both preferred to tube through the snow, and it was a LOT of fun!

After playing in the snow in the morning, we headed to Lake Tahoe in the afternoon, and it was SO warm! What a beautiful place to be!

{Gavin 66 Months}

Dear Gavin,

You are officially five and a half!!! You have been waiting for this day because you got to celebrate your birthday in school!!! Teacher Jennifer wanted to make sure you got to since you have a summer birthday:)

You are definitely proving to be a leader. You will run stations in class, lead the class in songs, and also help anyone who needs it. If you know something well, you will teach others.

You love to have playdates and play all day long. You still like to nap in the afternoon, and no one is stopping you!

You are a great eater and sleeper, and continue to love story time. You are now in a 5/6T clothing, and getting very tall!

We love you Gav!

{Austin 36 Months}

Dear Austin,

Today you turn three years old! What a big boy you have become! We are so proud of how sweet and compassionate you are. You are my little love bug, always wanting to be held and snuggle.

You continue to love life and all it has to offer. You are very busy, all the time, and don't stop until you crash. You play, play, play and its endless!

One of your favorite things to do these days is take a mid day bath! You love to play in the water and usually you prefer to have lunch in the tub as well.

You love to go to Mountain School, and you always play with everything there. Any activity they have set up, you will do! Teacher Sarah and Jane are your favorite people, and you go play with them the whole time. Snake time is your favorite part of school, and you always try what is offered. Even when it is raw veggies!

You are still a great sleeper, nap regularly, and never fight going to bed. Routines are what you like, so that is what we do!

You are potty trained except sleep. You go on your own, and don't need much help. EXCEPT for #2. You still need to go #2 in a diaper, so you will go get one and have us help you put it on. Yep, its what you want. You will outgrow it one day (hopefully soon) so we are not too worried:)

You continue to love to read books. You will sit still for as long as we will read. Its my favorite time in the world.

We love you SO much Austie!!!

Happy Third Birthday Austie!

Today we had a really fun party for Austin's third birthday!!! It ended up raining all day so we had an indoor party! This is a first experience for us;) Austin LOVES to jump, so the perfect present was a new bounce house! He was THRILLED and SO excited that we get to KEEP IT!

We invited his classmates and a few friends and family...it turned out great. We had pizza, cupcakes (made by the boys) and then the best part? The balloon drop! Daddy put about 200 balloons in a huge bag that was on the ceiling...and Austin got to pull the string to make them all fall down. Another HUGE hit for everyone. Then they took them in the bounce house and bounced around.

The rain cleared up at the end so the kids headed out into the MUD. It was a HUGE mess, but they were having a blast. So much mud!

It was a really nice morning and we are so thankful for everyone in our life...near and far. The only thing that would have made it better was if our Cincinnati family was here too.

We are as thankful as ever for our happy and healthy baby boy. LOVE YOU so much Austie!

Tough Guys

Here is a little picture of what it looks like when the boys have a playdate at the park with friends. Austin got a bloody lip while on the swings and Jack got one jumping off the play structure. Neither one of them noticed of cared, and at one point I had to wipe Austin's lip with my sleeve (I had no tissue) because he looked creepy running around with blood running down his face! It sure takes a lot for Austin to really get hurt and care about it!
