Thanks Ma and Papa for the fun day today! We had a great time swimming, eating, and playing. What more could you ask for?

Austin's Godparents

Tonight we had Rusty and Meghan over for dinner, and we asked them if they would do the honor of being baby Austin's Godparents:) Of course they said yes, and we are all very excited! The baptism is scheduled for August, and we look forward to the big day. Here are a few shots of baby A and his Godparents....I think the second one is a classic!

OK, I needed to get all the movies I have taken saved on the computer...so here they are! I know its a ton...I am pretty sure the only person that will watch them all is Cincinnati Ma;)

Big day!

This morning we went to Toyota to get the first service on the van...they told us it would take 2 hours...and then they saw what Gavin was going to be doing the entire time....and they managed to get it done in less than an hour;) Nice to have a monkey toddler climbing in and out of the brand new cars!

After we were done with the car, we headed to John Morgan park...one of G's favorites. We had not been since last year...its a water/sand park, so it needs to be warm. G played in the water area while baby and I sat in the shade...As we were just sitting there, Austin rolled over from back to belly!!! I watched it and was amazed. Then he got back on his back. Over and over and over. Its amazing that in less than 4 hours, he is now a pro. Every time I have laid him on his back since this morning, he will flip himself right on to his belly, and then back again. We have a mover now! He is down for his nap now ON HIS BELLY!

Other Austin news...I am SO sad, but I have been finding little baby A black hair EVERYWHERE! It looks like his hair is falling out...:( And the funny part? Its just his sides! He is looking a little funny with balding sides. You probably can't tell much since he does have so much hair...we will see how much falls out.

Last but not least is a funny G story. This afternoon while shopping at Target. OMG. I was looking at eye drops for my itchy allergy eyes...and I was talking to Gavin as I was looking. I said "Oh Gavin, all these eye drops have so much junk in them!" What did he say immediately after I said this? "MAMA!! YOU HAVE JUNK IN YOUR TRUNK!" I thought maybe no one was near, or heard...but nope! There was a lady down the isle who heard and she was laughing so hard. Then 2 other ladies who were an isle over heard and came to see...and then he had an audience...so what did he do? He repeated himself about 10 times (very loud and clear) and was just smiling at all the people laughing. Yes, my face was bright red. I guess I gotta get used to this!

(Junk in your trunk explanation. Last weekend I went to some garage sales in the neighborhood. When I came home Gavin asked me what I got. Derek told him "Mama has junk in her trunk...hehehehe" Yes, Daddy taught him that.)

Funny Guy

Seriously, this kid is always cracking us up! He does and says the funniest stuff...I just can't even keep up with him! Today he wanted to have his lunch in his car...without his shirt on. Oh Gavie:)

Mr. 3 month

I managed to get some cute baby A pics today while we were playing in the back yard. He is SUCH a smiley baby...and loves the camera. It will not be long before he is not so fond of the camera lens in his face. I am so in love with this little guy:)

First time in swing!

Wait a second...Austin is my baby...how is he already in the swing?!?! I had to put him inside to get his brother in the other swing, and of course he just loved it. So he stayed for a few minutes...and thankfully I put the "barf rag" there because he immediately spit up all over:) I still can't believe that I have TWO kids in the swings.

Boys and Hacienda

Every night after dinner, we walk over to Hacienda elementary school to play. There is a big jungle gym, and a huge field to run and kick the soccer ball. About 99% of the time we meet Kaleb there too...and the boys play. Well the boys play with dads...and the moms hold babies:) They really are best little friends...and they are "learning" how to play better with each other every single day. We are so excited that the weather is now so nice, and will continue to be for months and months...perfect "Ha-ci-sienda" weather! (Its rare I get pics of this....its the end of the day and I can usually barely keep my eyes open:)

Strong Austie

I can't believe how strong this baby is! He is a lot stronger at this age than G was for sure. Something I didn't realize could happen bc G was a strong baby.

Austin can hold his head up all the time, very well. We are obviously always careful and support it when we lift him up, but sometimes when we are doing tummy time, I will lift him up by his hands to a standing position, and he holds his head the entire time, very well! I am always so amazed.

He spends most of the day in a standing position in your lap. Legs straight, and very sturdy...and we usually hold him by the torso...but sometimes by the arms and hands...and he stands so tall and proud!

He has been rolling from tummy to back since he was less than a week old...and is just days away from back to tummy. His one arm stands in his way right now, he cannot decide where to put it so he can roll.

Just this afternoon, he was taking a nice long nap in his swing...where he naps 90% of the time. He was sleeping and sleeping for hours (Thanks to his little cold) so I kept checking on him. I found him with his head completely off the swing on the side!!! AHHH I freaked out and ran to him...and after I made sure he was breathing and moved his head back, he woke up a little and move his head off AGAIN! OK, strong boy, no more swing for you! (It does not matter that he is strapped in and it is on its lowest setting...He is too strong for his own good:)

Baby A has also decided that for the past week, he no longer will drink from a bottle. He usually gets one bottle a day from Daddy...not anymore! We have tried and tried with different people and times...he just does not want it! He seriously acts like he is being poisoned when the bottle hits his mouth...Not sure what to do at this point! New bottles? I guess we will just keep trying for now.

I just wanted to write this down, because he changes so much each and every day. Just like that he is so big. Tonight while I was nursing him before bed, he decided that he wanted to know what all the noise was about (Gavin & Daddy reading books and playing) and also wanted to smile at me...so he would suck, suck, suck, completely pull his head away and look at me and smile and coo...and did this over and over for 20 minutes! Gone are the days when he will just nurse away with all the noise in the back round...now he wants to see what's happening! He sure is growing so fast.

I had to post all the pics of A in his toys...our house looks just like it did 2 years ago...baby stuff EVERYWHERE! Baby Austin loves his jumparoo and exersaucer already!

{Gavin 33 Months}

Oh Gavie,

Notice how every other month says "Dear Gavin" ? ? ?

Yes, Oh Gavin is all I can say!

Terrible two's??? We think so!

You have recently mastered the skill of throwing a tantrum, and you are the MASTER of manipulation. OMG.

We are working on what to do in these situations...but I think the key is to NOT give in to you...a hard thing when momma is so tired! So I promise we love you, and this is us showing you that:)

You talk a mile a minute from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. You repeat any new word you hear, and you speak in phrases, sentences, and lots of demands! Your vocabulary is insane...shock us every day with new things. Lately it was "Momma, Davin calls the shots around here!" and "Momma is just gonna DIE when I show her this spider!" Oh yes, you hear it all!

You eat everything under the sun, and you are completely potty trained except for naps and bedtime.

You wear size 3T and some 4T. Shoe size is 9. Diaper size is 6. Such a big boy!

Although things have been rough around here lately, life is still so much fun with you. You make us laugh and smile all day long (minus those tantrums!). This definitely is a fun age as you are becoming so independent and can get what you want. I found you yesterday pouring your own glass of milk...yep, you used the step stool to get your cup, get the milk, and you did not spill an ounce. I was not really that surprised, as you are Mr. Independent!

Looking forward to a fun summer....we just joined a "Cabana Club" and are super excited to take you swimming:)

We love you Gavie!

My Mother's day

I have spent the night and day snuggled up with baby A...poor little guy has his first cold:( Lots of cuddling, snot sucking, and nursing...every 20 minutes he will look up at me and try to smile...then a look of confusion hits him as he can't breathe from his nose...poor guy!

Other than lots of cuddling, we have just been hanging out at home. They boys made me my favorite breakfast of spinach tart. Then they got me flowers and made me lunch too:) These boys spoil me.

I am so thankful today and always. I am thankful that all I have to deal with is a little cold...things could be so much worse, I know. This journey of motherhood is by far the hardest yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. Best "job" in the world, no matter what anyone says.

Happy Mother's day Mom and Dayle! I love you:)

Gavin @ Mountain School 2011-2012

Here are just a few (million) pics of Gavin this school year. Well, these are my favorites that I used for his "culmination project" for the end of the year. I decided to make a photo book of all the pics, and I had Gavin help me choose his favorites....then I wrote a caption for each photo of what Gavin said about them....A book written by Gavin, pretty cute! I am very thankful for Lisa (Ryan's momma) as she took a ton of pics of G while I was on bed rest and on maternity leave. Again, these are just the favorites....there are so many!

This weeks pics

Cinco de Mayo, new cabana club, spring BBQ with friends, Starbucks date, spring picnic at school, and  lots of park dates...another busy week!

Gavin's grocery list

This morning Gavin and I went "shopping" in the market. (My closet and bed....don't ask!) Gavin told me he had to pick out "Beg-ta-bowls" and other stuff we "need" to get.

This was his list:

"We need, mmmmm, well.....begtabowls, carrots, rice milk, almond milk, kale, corn, size baby diapers, ummmmm....well...some more turkey, soy hot dogs, some more clothes, and herb tea!"

HAHA I was trying so hard not to laugh....he is so darn cute!!!

{Austin 3 Months}

Dear Baby Austie,

Wow, three months. Time flies when you are having fun....and not sleeping! Well, you and your brother are sleeping...its the adults that are not getting much sleep around here!

You have really started to develop a little personality in this family. You are so easygoing, and only fuss when you want to eat, sleep, or change of scenery. You go with the flow, and love to be moving around. We keep busy watching and chasing your big brother, and you seem to like it.

You have started to smile and laugh. You are almost rolling over on to your belly. You will arch your back and it looks pretty close! You coo and talk all day long. If someone smiles at you? You will flash a HUGE grin back. Happy baby we call you.

You are nursing every 2hrs during the day...and for the past week, the same at night! You tossed out your long 6hr stretch of sleep, and decided to wake up and eat in between. Growth spurt? We sure hope so! You have stopped spitting up as much, as long as dairy is out of my system! I ate a sandwich last week that probably had diary in the bread...Oh man, big mistake! For the following 24hrs you had about 20 poops, and spit up like crazy. So no dairy here, and no dairy experimenting!

You are in size 3-6mo clothes, and some 6mo stuff too. Size 1-2 diapers. You pretty much live in onsies and bibs as the bibs are great for catching your "barf" as your brother says.

You really are such a happy baby. You rarely ever cry, and if you do, its pretty easy to figure out what to do. I wear you in the carrier all the time, and you just are so content being in there...most of the time I will look down and you will be sound asleep:)

You love your bath every night. You love to look around in the tub and you especially love when your brother washes you with soap:) You don't really love tummy time if it is longer than 3 minutes...that's the max you are happy playing on your belly. Sleeping on your tummy? You LOVE that, but I still won't let you sleep that way at night until you can roll over.

You went in the pool for the very first time this week. You got your very first swim diaper, swim shirt and sunhat. You even got sunscreen on for the first time. (Cali Baby chemical free) I tried to keep you out of the sun as much as possible, but its pretty tough with your brother! You LOVED to kick your legs in the pool...and of course you loved to watch the kids play in the water.

Your brother says to you every day, "I WUV my BRODDER" and he kisses and hugs you. You just smile at him and try to eat his face:)

We love you little Austie!

Baby A giggle

I had to document this. I remember Gavin's first laugh like it was yesterday...it was in Ohio, and Aunt Erica got him to do it:)

Today as I was tickling baby A's cheeks and neck (You have to sort of lift his chubby cheeks to get to his neck) he let out a big old laugh:) It was ADORABLE! He smiles and coo's when you tickle his cheeks, and now he is starting to laugh....I love it!

Oh, and "Baby A" and "Happy boy" are his newest nicknames from big brother.

Boys and toys

Oh boy! Looks like all of Austin's toys are Gavin's too:) I found G inside the little "beach tent" with Austin this morning...hmmm...Of course baby A loves to have the company, its instant entertainment!

On to the jumparoo. HAHAHA I laughed so hard! I was in the other room, and heard G yelling for me...found him stuck in the jumparoo:)
