Karate/Self Defense Class

Both boys started this class a few weeks ago but then we missed two classes because we were out of town. Tonight they went to their second class, and loved it! The coach is a *little* strict, but that's OK because Gavin and Austin both do so well. They pay attention and do everything he asks. Austin won the student of the day award for his efforts! The coach praised him for paying such close attention to the instructions and said for being the youngest in the class, he was impressed! He told Gavin he did an awesome job, but wants him to continue to work for the award...he sees "real" potential in them. ;)

Cincinnati here we come!

These boys are such professional travelers! They know the drill, find the gate numbers, do as they are told, and are so good! The cooperate, they listen, and they are so sweet to me. I am thankful! 

Our newest routine for the plane is so cute. We board with the family boarding at the beginning. They memorize what seat number we are sitting in and then I walk back to the seats alone with the bags and I do my cleaning ritual. They go sit with the pilot and just chat it up. They take pictures and press all the buttons...and then they walk back, ALONE, to our seats. So independent these boys!!! 

{Gavin 80 Months}

Dear Gav,

80. Sounds so high. It is. You are getting so old!!! Most people ask if you are 7 or 8....you are super tall, and super mature for a 6year old. I need to remember sometimes that you are in fact still six!

You had a BLAST with your cousins here, and you and Griffin are the best of friends. Makes me so happy to see. 

You are busy back in school after Spring Break...back to loving life, your school, your schedule, soccer, and now Karate/self defense class! 

You go about your days with ease and even complete your homework without a fuss. As long as you can still play 90% of your days, you are happy!

Mrs. Faye told me in class recently that you are reading at the end of first grade level....so this summer we will need to get some higher level books for you! 

You participated in the Variety Show at school, you were a bee, and you were so proud to be up on stage.

{Austin 50 Months}

Dear Austie-

Where is the time going? So quickly you are growing up, getting so big, so fast, and so independent. I just don't know where my baby went :( You are so busy these days, preferring to do things "by myself" and feeling proud. 

You recently went to a playdate at your friend Parkers house, and you were so excited to " go alone with no momma" !!! You just love your friends, their moms, and you are happy to play play play!

You have been busy with Mountain School, playdates, playing with your brother, and anything in between. You are a great eater, sleeper, and so easygoing. If you are whining, then I know you are either tired or hungry....whats new!

We have LOTS of trips coming up this spring and summer, and we need to enjoy the rest of the school year before its over:) LOVE you Austie!

Day at the Tidepools!

Today, the Lyons last day here, we decided to go to Half Moon Bay and check out the tide pools there. The kids had a lot of fun looking for snails and crabs, and then we got to play at the beach for a while. We were so happy they got to come for a week!
