11 Weeks

Today Derek and I went to the Doctor for my first "Prenatal" check-up. She did an ultrasound and measured the baby to be almost 11 weeks and 4cm long. The size of the fig seen below! As soon as we could see the baby, I was in shock! It seemed so big to me! I know it is going to get SO much bigger, but it was just so neat to see the head, body, legs and arms! As soon as we got a good look at the legs, baby moved them and crossed them! It was so amazing to see the tiny little legs kicking back and forth inside me! Probably the most amazing sight I have ever seen:) Other than that all the blood work that they did was normal and the doctor was happy with my weight gain of 3 pounds. The last issue we talked about was this really fun morning sickness. I guess I have good days and bad days. One day I will want to eat everything and others, like today, I struggle to find ANYTHING that sounds good. All I can say is Thank God Derek is so understanding with this issue. Every meal is a challenge, and he is very patient with me. Lately he has been doing all the cooking, and I am very thankful. He also understands that whatever sounds good to me is what we will be eating. No questions. He just goes with it:) So that's it for now, enjoy the pic!

I'm Pregnant!

Derek and I are expecting our first baby at the end of this summer! I am almost 11 weeks pregnant now, and feel like we can finally tell everyone! We could not keep it a secret when we first found out, and told our immediate family over Christmas break...That turned into telling EVERYONE in the family thanks to my Mom:) She was so excited to tell everyone and she had a really good point. She said that the more people we have praying for the baby the better...so we went with it and told the entire family! I am so excited to finally feel good enough to talk about the pregnancy and start my journal. The past 5 weeks I have had pretty bad morning sickness and felt like I would never eat again! I managed to just have nausea all the time (Thank God no vomiting) and now it is slowly starting to go away:) We are so excited about the journey we are about to take, and are so very blessed to have the support and love of our *wonderful* family and friends. We could not ask for more!
