{Austin 11 Months}

Dear my baby Austin,

Today you turn 11 months. Where has the time gone? I can't believe that in just one month you will be a whole year. Its insane how fast time goes!

You are as busy as ever. You learned how to walk, and have not looked back since. You re a wild man. You walk all over the place, and if we offer to hold your hand, you shake your head no. You are strong willed and very determined. What I love most about you:)

You are constantly into something. Or on something. You climb like a 2 year old, and you have completely mastered how to get on and off furniture, and can get down steps all by yourself. You go up and down the step stool about 300 times a day (to eat) and you love to do whatever your big brother is doing. You even get into and out of the bath by yourself. 11 months going on three, I swear.

You eat everything we eat and more. Most days I think you eat more than your brother. You need to eat so much to keep up with your crazy energy. You are by no means "big" you are pretty average...but very very muscular. You love fruit, veggies, cheese, eggs, pasta,  you name it!

You are still nursing about three times a day and you take a bottle of breast milk while I am at work. You have still never had anything besides breast milk or water...so we tried some cow milk a few days ago...you made a funny face, and pushed it away. Ha!

You are sleeping very well through the night...go to bed at 8pm and get up anywhere from 5am to 6am. Some days 430am and some days 7am. If you wake up too early, you get to fuss around in your crib for an hour or so...we put a bunch of toys in there, so you are not bored.

You babble and talk all day long. You are LOUD. Lots of "dada" but not much mama. Funny because you are such a mama's boy.

You love playing with daddy and brother every morning...you guys all have so much fun, and some days you cry when daddy leaves for work! Its so sad, but also pretty cute...you love him so much:)

You are in size 12-18mo clothes, but most of the 12mo things are getting too small. You are in size 4 diapers, and good lord, your feet are HUGE! When you first started walking I got down the big bin of shoes so that you could have some when we go out...as you walk barefoot most places. We needed shoes for when we are out in public places...EVERY single pair of shoes that Gavin wore at this age were WAY too small! Like a size and a half! Gavin started walking around this time and was a size 3.5. You are starting in a size FIVE! Your feet are giant! (Ahem, just like momma's) So you went right to size 5W and 5WW :)

You have not liked your paci for months now...I keep forgetting to write that down, but you stopped taking the paci at about 8 months. No paci, but you LOVE LOVE LOVE your blankie's!!! You have two, a big brown one, and a little blue one. You must have both when you go to bed, and you put them in your mouth...this is why I must wash them twice a week! When we get the blankie at bedtime, you will lay your head on my shoulder and snuggle up with your blankie. So sweet:)

We just love you so so much baby Austin. You are a very sweet little guy, and you are keeping us very busy! Thank you for making us the happiest parents in the world.

Dim Sum fun (Playing in the fountain outside the restaurant), Fondue dinner, Baby climbing up on couch for first time, the red rose that Gavin kept (it was given to him from his GF Ryleigh...so so SO cute that he keeps it:), and last but not least...more baby climbing! 

Aquarium on New Years!

Today we headed down to Monterey to the aquarium. We took Ma, Marisa, Yvy, and Jason. Marisa, Yvy and Jason have been in town for a week, and we have been SUPER busy with them! Jason is 7 years old, and the sweetest boy in the world. Him and Gavin have had a BLAST and they have even had sleepovers together, its so cute! 

It was a very sunny and beautiful day in Monterey:) A perfect start to the new year. Happy 2013.

Face Painting

Today we went to CDM to play for members hour. Gavin wanted to paint his face...it was hilarious! He sat there with the paint bush and painted his face, every square inch, for 20 minutes. He was concentrating so hard, almost drooling! He said he was "kinda doing it like Cincinnati Ma!" :) (She let him put her makeup on) So funny!

Austin is a walker!

Last week baby Austin took more than 2 steps...he walked! He has been walking more and more, and he could not be more proud of himself!

so he took his first steps at 9 months, but we will say he is "walking" now at 10 months :) He still prefers to crawl when he needs to get somewhere fast (hears a noise, someone calls him, or he wants food!) but he walks probably half of the time.

Just today at the museum, we went in the "baby room" for him to play...and everyone that would ask "how old is he?" would guess 13 or 14 months...and then I would say, no, he is almost 11 months...and they would be in shock. I found it kinda funny, because he is not big at all! He is average size, and most of the time smaller than their kids, but he is pretty good on his feet, maybe that's it?

Austin is very much an observer when we are out around people. He will just watch everyone around him, and then he will go up to them and talk or get in their lap;) He is very social, but of course, ALWAYS has me in his vision. If I am not in his sight, he will crawl SUPER fast until he finds me.


Today he played in the sand table too! This to me is SUCH a big kid area...but he walked right up, and joined the big kids. He only tried to eat the sand toys a few times, and just ran his hands along the sand...this baby loves sand...its gonna be hard staying away from the beach this summer!

Baby Austie is not such a baby anymore...kinda making me sad. Wishing time would slow!

Holiday's too much?

Oh my. Constant attention from all the family and activity over the holidays has made Gavin one spoiled kid! He needed some "Holiday attention detox" this afternoon! Ugly ugly attitude!
