It has been a very emotional week. Today was Gavin's last day of JK, and we are all so sad to leave Mulberry and all the wonderful people, including Teacher Jennifer.
Gavin has been very emotional about it. He has been telling me he never wants to leave school, and he always wants "to love Teacher Jennifer." He loves her so much, and she was such a great teacher to him. Not only is she incredibly patient and kind, she loved Gavin the way he most needed it. She let him hug her every morning, throughout the day, and when he said goodbye. In fact, she hugged him back, each time. The relationship they built was so sweet to see. Something I will miss for sure.
Jennifer had each child come up and she talked about them. What they loved, what they were great at, and where they were going to school next year. Gavin was last, and Jennifer started to cry before she could even speak about him. Once she was able to talk, he hugged on to her, to make her feel better. I lost it, I think all the moms did! So sweet!
We have made Gavin a promise that this community will always be a part of us, and we can go back and visit anytime. We will still have playdates with his friends and we will visit when we can. A very bittersweet day for us all! Thank you Mulberry School!
