{Austin 22 Months}

Dear Austie,

Oh how you are growing up so fast! These days you can be found doing anything and everything that your older brother is doing. You can run fast to keep up, and you are very smart for your age. Most people look at you and ask if you are 2.5 or 3. I tell them you are one. Still one.

You are very much into potty training these days. You decide on a daily basis if you would like to pee-pee in the potty all day, and its your choice. No pressure from us...you have a blast, and you will go sit on the potty about every 6 minutes to pee...so we can't get you dressed! Wintertime is not a great time to potty train because its cold, but you need to be naked! You pee yourself, then you dump it in the big potty...and then flush. If you "oooop" (poop) which you never have, its just a fart, you will need to have your bottom wiped. That's right, you bend over like your brother used to do, and ask us to wipe your bottom, even though you only farted. Holy Lord, its a production. We are glad you are becoming so independent:)

Your vocabulary is starting to grow. You only grunt and make monkey noises all day...sometimes a "No" or a "Uh oh" but you will say lots of words on command. We ask you all day long to say Hawaii because its so darn cute...and you said "pee-pee" last night on the potty. Your words are coming along, and slowly you are talking.

You continue to be a champ eater and sleeper. You prefer to nap in our bed some days (as long as G is at school, that's fine with me!). You wake up at 6am, nap from 1-4 and go to bed at 8pm. We are lucky you are such a good eater and sleeper.

The past few weeks you had a bad cough (Your first cough) and it turned into bronchitis. Poor guy. Last Friday we tool you to see Dr. C and it was confirmed. She gave you 5 days of antibiotics (first for that too) and an inhaler for the wheezing you were doing...we did the inhaler two nights in a row, and it helped. You are pretty much all better now, thank God! Glad we got that out of the way before we travel at Christmas. Fingers crossed for Gavin.

This past week we joined a playgroup with a bunch of kids your age. We went to a play date at the church nursery, and you loved to play with all the toys. A few times a little boy came over and took your tea pot you were playing with. You got mad, but let him take it. Then you would go over and take it back...and he got really really upset, and would cry. You would watch him cry for a second, and look at me. I would tell you that he is very sad...and you would walk right over, and hand him your beloved teapot. Of course the whole room of moms was SO amazed at your ability to share. Its something we have to work on a LOT at home, so I guess you are learning! I was proud. You were too. All smiles when you saw how happy the boy was. You continued to share three more times, and I was so happy to see this! (I did not ask you to, you just did it on your own.)

Austin we are so so proud of you and love every minute we get to spend with you.

Love you Austie!

Momma
