Austin 24 Month Check-Up

We just got back from Austin's 2yr appointment with Dr. Copeland.

First of all I just want to say how lucky we are to have such a great pediatrician. She is wonderful, always spends time with us answering questions, and is very up to date with everything. To have the same pediatrician with both the boys for every appointment, its so nice.

We started off talking about Austin and how he is doing. He is 29 pounds and 50% for weight.  He is very tall at 37 inches and 99% for height. BMI is low at 14 and 6%. (Tall and lean!) She says he looks wonderful and very healthy. He only got sick once this year (bronchitis after a cold) so she says he wins the award for least sick visits. He is very physical and she was impressed. We talked a lot about his speech. She filled out the paperwork for Early Start, so she is totally on board with that. She said that if insurance does not cover any therapy, then its going to be expensive, but she knows thats not an issue for us. We will do whatever we need and pay whatever we have to for his needs. She was happy that he is making progress and slowly starting to talk more. She thinks he just needs more time.

He then got 2 shots, his Hep A & B series, and it was so sad. After the first shot, he said "OWIEE!" then after the second he screamed. Poor guy. It was all solved with a sticker afterwards. Dr. C no longer gives out suckers, so the boys will have to learn that stickers are enough!

Great appointment. I am so incredibly thankful for my healthy little guy. Perfect all around.
