July 4th 2012

Today we started a new 4th of July tradition, the Rose, White and Blue Parade! It is in the Rose Garden downtown SJ, and it was a lot of fun. We have wanted to find a good parade to go to, and last year we went to the Los Gatos one, but it was not very fun, and it starts very late.

We headed downtown with the Elliotts at about 945, and parked at Derek's office...we got to avoid the crazy crowds and parking! It is RIGHT next to the end of the parade, so it was perfect. We walked and found a great shaded spot on a hill so we could see the parade...we really lucked out considering we got there right as it started...others had been there since 7am to get a shaded spot!

The boys LOVED all the trucks, motorcycles, fire engines, police cars, and army trucks...Gavin was concentrating on them all...and was on daddy's shoulders almost the whole time! The loud noise did not seem to bother him this time, go figure.

We had a picnic lunch, and the babies rolled around on the blankets and napped. Perfect 4th of July!
